New York Healthy Workplace Advocates

NYHWA is seeking individuals to get involved with a variety of opportunities and activities to work on the goal of passing legislation in the State of New York to provide recourse for employers and employees to protect themselves from those who actively and intentionally bully employees in the workplace to impair and damage their health and career using the resources of the employer.

Some of the opportunities to get involved include:

District Coordinators

Individuals who have been a target of psychological violence in the workplace that have sufficiently healed from the trauma to effectively work with legislators and the community to speak on these issues.

Legislative Targets

Individuals who are willing to talk about their experience as a target of workplace bullying to state legislators and there staff.  Legislative Targets must be able to make the distinction of knowing the difference between being a victim of trauma and a target of trauma.  Interested parties can contact info@nyhwa.org for more information.

Memorandum's of Support -Bill A5414A/S1823A

NYHWA is looking for people to contact unions, civil rights and women's groups to ask for Memorandum's of Support for Bill A5414A/S1823A.  This role is to simply pass on some information that NYHWA has already prepared for this endeavor to add to the growing list of supporters who wish to address workplace bullying violence.  Interested parties can contact info@nyhwa.org for more information.

Write a letter

Write a letter to the following state legislators outlining what you experienced as a target of workplace bullying, how it has affected your health, career and what the employer did to alleviate the situation or retaliate against you for bringing this issue to their attention.  If you would like us to include your letter in our legislative packet to our state legislators as we meet with them about the Healthy Workplace Bill, please contact us at info@nyhwa.org.  We will be happy to work with you to remove any identifying details you wish to remove to protect your anonymity so legislators and their staff can learn more about workplace bullying and how it affects employees and employers.
